OUR PROCESS
To ensure client satisfaction, we do our best to streamline our processes. While each project is unique, clients can expect a similar approach, which includes: initial consultation, planning, designing, budget, schedule, and work. We communicate with clients on a regular basis throughout each project, make recurrent inspections as the job is in progress, and also do a final walk through to ensure complete satisfaction.
1 | DISCOVER
Every project, big or small, starts with initial discovery both on the parts of the client and our team. When a client contacts us with their project idea and needs, we schedule an in-home initial consultation to discuss and learn more. This is where we carefully look at the specs, discuss pain-points and optimal desires, take measurements (if needed), and offer solutions. Our team will also discuss initial budget parameters.
2 | DEVELOP
After the discovery process, we develop a design that meets the specifications of the project and the client’s wishes. Depending on the complexity of the project, this may include 3D renderings, architectural input, and an outline of required permits and approvals. This phase also includes the selection of finishes and materials required for the project. Our team will then send an estimate based on the discovery phase discussion and all project specifications.
3 | CONTRACT
Once the development phase is complete, all selections have been finalized, and the budget has been approved, our team will send a formal contract to begin work.
4 | BUILD
Once the construction agreement is approved, and all the details and project specifications are mapped out, the Donjo team begins renovation! Our dedicated crew of carpenters, plumbers, electricians, tile specialists, and more work together to make your project a reality. Our team performs regular site visits, inspects quality of work throughout the construction phase, and ensures that the construction site is left in pristine condition. Open communication is our policy, so if there are any concerns, questions, or comments, our team is available to clients at all times. Our team will also provide regular updates on the construction progress.
5 | REVIEW
Once construction is complete, our team performs a final walkthrough with the client. Every detail is assessed to ensure complete client satisfaction.
6 | ENJOY
After the punch-list (if any) is completed, the job is done and our clients enjoy their new construction.

How much would it cost to …?
As each project is unique, our costs are tailored for each specific project and client’s needs. We sit down with clients and go over each piece of the budget. We also strive to work within a client’s budget and develop solutions to attain the client’s wishes.
Is everything owed upfront? What if I change my mind on materials during construction?
Maryland is very specific about payments for home improvement contracts. By law, only one-third of the total cost is due at signing.
We understand that renovation jobs are a big undertaking and sometimes minds change in regards to materials chosen. In the event this occurs, a change order would be completed, and any costs associated will be added to the final bill.
Are estimates free?
Estimates, or consultations as we call them, are always free. Our job is to help our clients visualize their final space, and to develop solutions so they are happy with the final product.
Will I have to live somewhere else temporarily?
This is all what our clients are most comfortable doing, but most clients still reside in the home while it’s being renovated!
